To make your decision easier to choose between Fixed-Gear and Singlespeed bike, we equipped Viktor, Siegfried and Sophie with a Flip-Flop-hub. Due to the second pulley you can switch anytime between freewheeling and engaging a gear. Our aim was to develop a stiff wheel which can stand up to tough every day use. First of all, we used a mounting width of 135 mm instead of the standard 120 mm for the Fixed-Gear-Bikes. In this way the spoke flanges moved slightly apart, resulting in a greater spoke support. Another step to achieve a stiff wheel was to apply a freehub body which precisely fits a pulley- that’s all what we need. The wheel can be spoked symmetrically. Besides, we apply high-quality industrial bearings, the light aluminum made insert freewheel and using high-strength Allen screws to locate the hub. The hub is from the technical point of view off the chain!
