In November 2018, we introduced our new e-bike range. Including three Bosch e-bikes with a Bosch mid-engine, together with the sleek Arthur (then still under the name Adam) with an integrated, almost invisible battery and rear hub motor. We have always approached the subject of e-bikes with a vision in mind and wanted to present a balanced product range that covers many wishes for an e-bike. Thus, the Bosch bikes are our all-rounders, which will take you furthest and payload options that combine many requirements for a city and touring e-bike.

Arthur now follows as the e-bike model, in which our design handwriting is clearly recognizable - the Schindelhauer e-bike, which many have expected of us. Arthur is ready for delivery in December in the colour graphite black.

Our eye for details is evident in many aspects: Not only is the battery integrated into the down tube, all cables disappear within the frame. This is how we managed to maintain the typical look of a classic Schindelhauer bike. Arthur has, like our classics, an aero-shaped seat tube with integrated saddle clamping.

Another highlight is the integrated lighting system:

A flat lens, which is StVZO compliant (road-legal in Germany) and provides enough light output, neither gets hot nor blinds oncoming traffic and fits inside a handlebar - this feat was achieved by the LightSKIN developers. Exactly the right solution for a sleek e-bike like Arthur, which comes without visible battery and cables along the frame. Together with LightSKIN we redesigned both their LED seatpost and the LED handlebar for the German market - and so Arthur is the first e-bike worldwide with a complete, StVZO-compliant LightSKIN lighting system. The power is supplied by the battery.

For the type of engine, we researched a long time and opted for German-Spanish manufacturer MAHLE. A reliable, lightweight rear-engine with sophisticated controls coupled with a sleek battery - MAHLE combines this into one system. A noticeable boost when starting up puts the wheel in pole position as soon as the traffic light turns green. The rear engine is reliable, silent and perfectly matched to the battery. The battery can be replaced by a specialist dealer in case of service. Another special feature: Arthur is the first MAHLE model on the market to get a matte-silver motor housing - this rounds off the high-quality look of our newest e-bike.

The slim design is made possible by the 250 Wh battery, the range is half of what our Bosch bikes offer. As a true city rider, one battery charge lasts between 50-80 kilometres, depending on terrain, rider weight and start-stop-frequency. But even with an empty battery the onward journey is no problem due to a natural driving experience.   Mudguards and rear racks will be optionally available.

The pre-order is now open through our website or through Schindelhauer dealers.
