2. Collection and Storage of Personal Data

What is person-specific data?

Person-specific data describes details relating to the actual or personal relationships of a specific or identifiable natural person. Such details include, for example, your name, your telephone number, your address, and all existing data that you disclose to us during registration and when opening your customer account. It does not include statistical data, which are collected when visiting Schindelhauerbikes.com, which cannot be traced back to person-specific data. These are, for example, general statistics about the number of visitors on specific sites.

Person-specific data is being collected in the following cases:

a) When visiting our website

When visiting our website, the servers of the host (Timme Hosting) temporarily save any access in a protocol file. The data is comprised of the IP address of the enquiring computer, as well as the date and time of access. This data is saved until its automated deletion after 21 days. Furthermore, we use cookies and web-analytics tools. For further information on these, please see points 4 and 5 of this privacy policy.

b) When registering on our website

For each customer who registers with us via "My Account" or during the ordering process, we set up a customer account, i.e. password-protected, direct access to his or her existing data stored by us. This allows you, amongst other things, to view your orders, or to manage your personal data. You agree to make sure to keep your login data/password private and not give access to third parties. We cannot account for misused passwords.

During the course of registration on our website, Schindelhauer Bikes collects the following compulsory data:

- Name (first name, surname);

- Address (street, number, postal code and city);

- Country

- E-mail address

- Telephone number (if shipped via a retailer)

Furthermore, Schindelhauer Bikes will ask for the voluntary statement of your date of birth.

The collection of the compulsory data is necessary for registering you as our contract partner. For your order we need your correct name, address and payment data. We need your e-mail address so that we can confirm receipt of your order and its dispatch, and so that we can communicate with you in general. We also use your e-mail address to identify you as a log-in name to your customer account. Furthermore you will receive your order- and shipping confirmation via this e-mail address.

By employing the SSL-algorithm, your data gets encrypted –before it is submitted to us- in a way that no third party members may reconstruct it. During the course of this encryption, it is also ensured that your data is only sent to the requesting server. When your data arrives on our server, we will check it for completeness and correctness. After full processing of contracts, the data gets stored only for fiscal- and commercial law- periods of retention and then deleted after these periods have run out, as long as you did not agree to further processing and use of the data.

c) When subscribing for our newsletter

When registering to our newsletter you can choose how we may contact you: via e-mail as part of a mailing list or for further marketing purposes. Different rules only apply if there is a deviating legal obligation or if it becomes vital in enforcing our rights, especially any compensations relating to our contract with you.

When processing orders, for example, the service companies used by us (transport companies, logistics companies, banks) are sent the data they require for processing and concluding orders. The data passed on to our service providers in this context may only be used by them for fulfilling their duties. Whenever there is a processing of data, we have contracts in place which are laid out in accordance to GDPR law.
